Bridal blog Q and A with our real bride Becky about her beautiful winter wedding.

Q -The wedding and date ?

A – Becky and Ryan were married on January 26th 2019 at St Mary’s Church in Rye

Becky said – “The ceremony was at the picturesque St Mary’s Church in Rye and the service just how we wanted it thanks to the vicar, David. ‘

The wedding reception took place afterwards at The Gallivant in Rye

“We thought we’d found our venue but then we went to the Gallivant and it was perfect so we changed our minds! They did everything they could to help us fulfill all the tiny details that we wanted and we couldn’t praise their events manager and bar guy more! “

Q – The proposal ?

“Ryan and I met online. As the stigma around online dating has reduced over time it seems ok to admit that now!
We had the first date of dreams so waiting for 2 years for him to propose felt like forever! Eventually we went to Zakynthos and 2 weeks off work meant the nails could be painted…conveniently. He proposed on a jetty that we’d sat on for an hour waiting for the evening sun to come out. He’d had a flat ring box designed so that I didn’t go patting pockets and guessing.”

Q – The Dress

A – Becky chose bridal gown Armani from our stunning bridal collection, which we had  made for her in Champagne and Ivory tulle. The stunning lace appliqués were placed all over the sweetheart bodice onto the skirt. The corset fastening at the back was perfect for Becky and incredibly flattering. The champagne colour combined with fit and flare style turned out to be the  perfect choice as Becky wanted something elegant but not too formal.  This dress just ticked all her boxes for this winter wedding.  For her finishing touches Becky chose along flowing single tier veil and a fur stole from our accessory collections to keep out the winter chill.

We had great fun with Becky coming into the shop for her fittings.  Mum did an amazing job of lacing up the back of the dress and was very grateful for the time we spent showing her exactly how to fasten them up perfectly.

Q – The Photographer ?

A – The fabulous  photos were  taken by Sarah Jane Ethan. These pictures captured the essence of the day perfectly.

Q – The flowers?
A – Fleur de Lynn did the flowers which were out of this world and more than we could ever hope for. You put so much trust in a florist as you don’t get examples but she saw our vision and then made it better.

Q – The Bridal Beauty

A -Kelly Ramshaw did the whole bridal party’s hair and we stressed her out a treat but with great results! The sweet, kind and patient Grace Benson did my make up which stayed perfect all day despite a windy beach trip!

Q – The Grooms Suit
A – The bridegroom Ryan lucked out on a blue tweed Moss Bros number!

Q – The Honeymoon

A – “We planned for a winter wedding so we could ski on honeymoon and because we’re the only 2 weirdos who love the cold.”

Thanks to Becky for sharing details of your beautiful day and we wish you and Ryan all the best for you future together.
