Today I am sharing the story of our bride  Lisa who was married to Anthony on the 12th December 2020. I was thrilled that this lovely couple had the wedding they had been dreaming of and even more so when they very kindly agreed to share the details of their day with us.  Following are some of their stunning pics and the brides story in her own words.  Congratulations to Lisa and Anthony and many thanks to all the wonderful suppliers who helped make the day happen.  Links below.

“When Tony proposed in December 2019, we began planning our wedding for the following Christmas. We had chosen the venue and arranged most of the details by the end of January, including our honeymoon in Bath – which turned out to be a stroke of luck! The most important remaining element was to find a dress and after spotting a collection of beautiful dresses online at Bustle and Bows, my Mum and I came to Hastings.

We were warmly welcomed and although I had pre selected my favourite pieces online beforehand, so many of the dresses were eye-catching and sparkling. Having visited a few bridal shows earlier on, I was struck how soft and rich the materials felt in the dresses at Bustle and Bows. I tried on a total of 8 dresses, but fell in love with my 3rd dress – Abbie! The second layer has a pattern of see through sequins to add sparkle and shimmer, and felt light to wear considering all the tulle underneath! It was perfect! I also purchase my hair piece to match from Bustle and Bows too.

Between lockdowns and restrictions, my dress arrived and I managed to have my fittings, it was one of the few things that was stress free and one of my favourite parts of planning the wedding. Helen was brilliant, she was reassuring, calm and happy to make any tweaks and alterations I needed.

Tony and I held our nerve, and despite news of other weddings being postponed multiple times, we held on and crossed everything that we would be able to go ahead as planned. We had originally chosen a small wedding, and with a few friends from abroad being unable to travel, we were quickly at the 13 guests we were allowed. Our photographer, make up artists, hotel, flower lady and cake bakers were all still on and adapted anything we needed to still be able to go ahead – we were incredibly lucky! We did have to write our own wedding ceremony, as part one with the registrars could only involve the legalities, but it was made all the more special being conducted by one of Tony’s friends – with a week’s notice…

On Saturday 12th December, Tony and I were married! We had our part 1 and part 2 ceremony at 2pm, followed by our cocktail reception at 2:30pm, and wedding breakfast at 3:30pm in the Princes Room of The Grand Hotel. It was a magical day, and we loved every minute of it. It was exactly as we had hoped for. xx”
